Dialogue Writing

What would animals tell one another?  What would they chat about?  Year 5 students discussed and noted these ideas during the pre-writing phase, and then, following dialogue conventions, wrote out and acted dialogues between animals, or animals and their owners.

The Enormous Turnip

The classical tale The Enormous Turnip was the backdrop for a lesson in pre-writing skills 

with the early years.

Describing a Celebrity

Selena Gomez,  Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Justin Bieber were a few of the celebrities described by the year 6 students at St. Joan Antide, during a writing support workshop offered by the secretariat.  The workshop included hands-on pre-writing activities such as Guess Who, pencil sketches of  people, as well as role play, all of which served as vocabulary buildup for the final writing task.
